Power Transmission and Distribution
What is T&D ?
Power transmission refers to the process of delivering electricity from power generation facilities to various substations. This transmission system comes in the form of interconnected underground cables or overhead lines. Power distribution refers to the conversion of voltage levels, which is performed by transformers located in substations to ensure end users receive the appropriate voltage level. In Singapore, the standard transmission network voltage levels are: 400kV, 230kV and 66kV. For distribution, the standard network voltages are: 22kV, 400V as well as 230V.
In 2021, Singapore only experienced an average of 9 seconds of power interruption. Even so, this is a 73% improvement from the previous year. EGP has played a significant role towards this world-class figure by supplying reliable equipment to our valued business clients.
